Cravings Cleanse

What if you could hit a reset button
on your eating habits and lose a quick five pounds?


Not long ago, the RDs at Sweet Science Nutrition discovered this High-Fiber Cleanse manufactured by USANA Health Sciences.

It helps our clients accomplish three major aims:

  1. To learn what it feels like to be full - not stuffed to the gills, just pleasantly satisfied.
  2. To curb their dependence on carbs and sweets.
  3. To lose a bit of weight fairly quickly, busting a stubborn plateau and motivating them to lose more (if needed). 

The Cravings Cleanse is a commonsense approach to nutrition that includes low-glycemic carbohydrates packed with soluble and insoluble fiber, low-fat sources of protein, and beneficial fats. And by eating small, low-calorie meals frequently throughout the day, you will create a caloric deficit without going hungry, making it easier for you to lose weight.

Your Cravings Cleanse kit contains:

  • 2 canisters of Nutrimeal(TM) shakes (they come in Dutch Chocolate, French Vanilla and Wild Strawberry)
  • 14 Nutrition Bars (in Peanut Butter Crunch or Oatmeal Raisin)
  • Blender bottle

The Cravings Cleanse lasts for 7 days and follows this schedule:

BREAKFAST: 1 10oz Shake

MID-MORNING SNACK: 1 bar

LUNCH: 1 10oz Shake

MID-AFTERNOON SNACK: 1 bar

DINNER: A 250-calorie low-glycemic dinner: 2 oz of lean protein, 2 cups of vegetables, and one quarter cup of whole grains (such as brown or wild rice, barley, quinoa, or you can also choose yams, potatoes, corn or another starchy vegetable in lieu of the grain). Do not eat pasta or bread products during the Cravings Cleanse. We also suggest you serve your dinner on 7-inch plates, and fill half of your plate with vegetables.

OPTIONAL SNACK: If hungry or light headed, eat an additional serving of fruit or vegetables. You will be more successful with the Cravings Cleanse if you are not too hungry.

EXERCISE: Aim to walk for 30 minutes everyday during the Cravings Cleanse. Avoid strenuous exercise as the calorie level in the cleanse may not support it; most importantly though, listen to your body
